We woke up early to drive to Cheaha Mtn., Alabama’s highest point. There were a few scenic views from the road as well as a lodge and camping areas at the summit.


There was a bit of digging going on next to the observation tower, but other than that, it was a quiet and beautiful morning.

Because we were so far ahead of schedule, we decided to make an early trip to Florida and surprise my parents. It was a longer drive from Montgomery than I remembered, but we got to their house by about 3pm and everyone was really very surprised. After some showers and some dinner, we hankered down for some relaxation.
